Fuel IQ collects two main categories of information.

Data stored locally on your device:

• Fuel QR code value
• Vehicle number
• Permit or reference code parsed from the QR value
• Selected vehicle type
• Save timestamp
• The currently active saved vehicle

This data is stored locally so the app can recreate your QR code offline and show vehicle-related details inside the app.

Data that may be transmitted off the device:

• A generated app-specific device ID
• Device name, if provided by the operating system
• Platform information
• Push notification token, if notification permission is granted
• Last active and updated timestamps
• Current device location, if location permission has already been granted and a location is available at registration time

The app may also fetch remote configuration values and fuel station data from backend services to operate app features.

Camera: used to scan a fuel QR code directly through the camera.

Photos / Media Library: used to import a QR code image from your gallery and save a generated QR image.

Selected images are processed locally by the app to read QR data. The app does not upload your selected photo library images as part of the normal QR import flow described here.

Location: used to find and rank nearby fuel stations.

If location permission has already been granted, a device location may also be stored in the backend during device registration. Fuel IQ does not request background location.

Notifications: used to register your device for push notifications and support app alerts where applicable.

• Store and display your saved fuel QR codes and vehicle details
• Recreate your QR code offline inside the app
• Determine fuel eligibility details based on vehicle information
• Show nearby fuel stations
• Register devices for notifications
• Maintain app functionality, security, and operational integrity

• Contacts
• SMS or call logs
• Payment card or banking information
• Health information
• Advertising identifiers for targeted advertising
• Background location

We may share or process information with service providers that help operate the app, including Google Firebase / Firestore, Expo notification services, Apple and Google notification infrastructure, and mapping or location-related platform services.

We do not state that we sell your personal information.

Vehicle QR and related local app data remain on your device until you delete a vehicle, reset local app data, uninstall the app, or your device storage is otherwise cleared.

Backend device registration records may be retained until they are no longer needed for app operations, removed during maintenance, or deleted following a valid request.

• Decline camera, photo, location, or notification permissions
• Delete locally stored vehicles in the app
• Reset local app data from the app
• Request deletion of backend data through the contact method above

We use reasonable technical measures appropriate to the app's scale and architecture, including secure local device storage for QR-related records and managed backend services for supported cloud features. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

Fuel IQ is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to provide consent on their own.

If you use the app outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will apply from the effective date shown at the top of the policy.
